It happens every year and yet it always comes as a shock. One day it is 80 degrees and the next morning I am scraping ice off of my windshield. Winter blows into Nashville quickly and prompts the question "Now what do we do?" With all the rooftop bars, festivals and street fairs Nashville is really known for its outdoor entertainment. But do not fear! I have rounded up a few indoor activities that are sure to please as the weather changes.
As a child of the 80’s I spent most of my childhood in Roller-skating Rinks. I remember like It was yesterday: My black and neon blades, the aroma of stale nachos and a frozen half cherry, half coke ICEE, the drama surrounding the couples skate. Well, guess what? Roller rinks are still around and they are still really, really fun. Brentwood Skate Center has a retro vibe which includes an arcade area and food court that will bring you right back to your childhood. On Sunday there is family skate, so roll up with the whole crew!
To be honest I am not sure what I did before Google. That’s the fun and challenge of trivia, you can only rely on your brain (which after a few trivia beers may be a questionable ally). Trivia happens all over Nashville – Edley’s, Mellow Mushroom, ML Rose, Acme, etc. People get pretty competitive and often create teams that meet weekly to dominate other trivia goers, but do not fear, Trivia Night is a blast even if you’re not in it to win it. Grab a beer, a couple appetizers and enjoy yourself! You’ll be glad you did, AND you’ll feel super impressed with yourself when you remember that obscure fact about Russian history from your 8th grade class.
Sometimes I want to get away but then reality kicks in. Going on a true vacation means a lot of planning money and time. Those are three things I rarely have at the same time. So when I heard that Flying Ham Rentals created the cutest little airstreams to rent for a night or two away I had to add them to the list! These things are adorable and super affordable! You can park it at your favorite park or even in your own driveway if you choose! It gives you the chance to get away without all the drama. . The campers range from 16 feet to 19 feet and can accommodate up to 5 guests. They are fully furnished with the cutest décor and all the amenities you need. Check them out and book your staycation!
